On the 4th November 2008, the American public elected Barack Obama as the new face of change. Millions upon millions of people amassed in polling stations across the country to demonstrate who they felt would best reflect and represent their views. With a resounding win over Senator John McCain, Barack Obama sealed his status as a president that would re-invent the American image as well as heal the wounds caused by the Bush administration.
So with George Bush out and Barack Obama in - the American public must now face the repercussions of voting in their new president, whether positive or negative - so how should the Muslims react to his appointment as president?
Undoubtedly, when one observes his statements in relation to fundamental issues concerning Muslims in general, such as policies towards the pirate State of Israel or the occupation of Afghanistan, one will be left convinced that the assumption of an ‘improved climate' under the Obama administration is at best a naive one.
Indeed Barack Obama is nothing more than a kaafir, who is vehement in violating the rights of Almighty Allah (SWT) in terms of His legislation and hence should be treated with much hostility calibrated according to the Qur'an and Sunnah.
As for those so-called Muslims who view his election as a ‘victory' for Islam and Muslims, it seems as if they have forgotten the very foundations of this Deen which stipulate the necessity of dissociating oneself (Muslim) from the camp of the disbelievers as well as rejecting taghout both of which are central components of Barack Obama and his evil administration.
As Muslims we can certainly expect nothing but corruption from these brutal regimes and only experience true justice until the shari'ah of Allah (SWT) is established on the earth.
Indeed Allah (SWT) says in the Qur'an, "Corruption has appeared on the land and sea because of what man makes by his hands (man-made law)." [EMQ 30: 41]
